Privacy Policy

Summary

This site does not collect personal data. There are no email sign-ups, no passwords, no tracking cookies, no analytics, and no advertising. Optionally, you can save your study progress on our server under an invented avatar name — see below for exactly what that stores.

Data stored on your device

Your quiz history, statistics, study streak, bookmarks, missed questions, reading progress, and theme preference are stored in your browser's localStorage. In guest mode (the default) this data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server. Clearing your browser data (or using the "Reset progress" button on the dashboard) permanently deletes it.

Optional sync (data stored on our servers)

If you choose to save your progress on the dashboard, your study data (quiz statistics, history, missed questions, bookmarks, reading progress, and flashcard scheduling) is stored in our database under an avatar name you invent or a randomly generated identifier. No email, IP address, or any other personal information is attached to it, and we cannot link it to you. Do not use your real name as an avatar name. Access secrets are stored only as hashes, and accounts inactive for 30 days are automatically deleted, which frees the name. Sign-in attempts are rate limited using a short-lived hash of the requester's IP address, which is never stored in readable form. You can delete this data at any time with the "Delete account data" button in the account dialog (top-right of every page), which removes it permanently and immediately. Saving is off by default.

Beyond that, standard web server logs (IP address, requested URL, user agent) may be produced by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes and are subject to that provider's retention policies.

Third parties

We do not embed third-party trackers, social media widgets, or external fonts/CDNs that would receive your browsing information from this site.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you. Your study data lives on your own device, plus — only if you chose to save it — a pseudonymous copy on our server that you can export ("Export backup") or permanently delete ("Delete account data") yourself at any time from the account dialog. Anything not deleted by you is deleted automatically after 30 days without activity.
